Renegade Mike Takes his 25,000th Ride!

Mike Cameron, better known as Renegade Mike, is a roller coaster enthusiast and long-time season passholder at Valleyfair. Mike not only keeps count of how many times he visits the park but also how many times he rides his favorite roller coasters, top of the list being Renegade. Mike fell in love with the Renegade roller coaster in 2007 and has kept count since. Mike's last Renegade milestone was accomplished in the 2021 season once he hit 10,000 ride on Renegade. After that big feat, he knew he needed a new milestone to overcome. Two years later on June 23, 2024, (ONE DAY before Renegade temporarily closed due to flooding) Mike completed his 25,000th ride on Renegade.

Valleyfair celebrated Renegade Mike and his 25,000th ride on the Renegade coaster. A lift hill walk on Renegade was safely conducted with our Safety Manager to give Mike a great view from the top of his favorite ride. After the climb, Mike, friends, and family prepared for the ride of a lifetime on Renegade.

After happy wishes from friends and family, Mike finally completed his milestone of 25,000 rides on Renegade at Valleyfair! Yee-Haw!! 

To top the celebration off, Valleyfair and our maintenance team gifted Mike with a guide wheel with weldment from one of the cars of Renegade-something he needed to complete his collection. Throughout Mike's journey of reaching 25,000 rides of Renegade, he has had the amazing opportunity to meet many people, from associates to season passholders, with the same thrilling passion for roller coasters.

Meeting someone as passionate and enthusiastic about amusement parks and roller coasters as Mike, so celebrating Mike and his coaster achievements is important to the park. People like Renegade Mike and other coaster enthusiasts transform Valleyfair from just being another amusement park to a place where friends and family can create happy, awesome, and thrilling experiences!


As Renegade Mike completes his milestone of 25,000 rides and celebrates, Valleyfair is eagerly anticipating Mike's next milestone and cheering him on in his continuous adventure. Mike's next roller coaster milestone is 42,236 rides on Renegade--equivalent to the number of miles around the Earth's equator!
